Long time in the making - Second Battle Pack
Hey everyone! I am SO HAPPY to finally announce that my second music pack is live! I learned a lot going from the first one to this one, and I'm extremely happy with how this turned out. I wanted to talk a little about lessons learned from the first pack, and how they were implemented into the second one.
Efficiency
The first thing that stuck with me is efficiency when working on a music pack like this. This is a big project to take on, and it can really drag on if you do not have a system in place. The first time I winged a lot of it, working on whatever I felt like however I felt like. Remembering the pain of being stuck crunching with the last 3 or 4 tracks, I wanted to avoid that at all cost. The very first thing I did - before writing a single note - was to create an outline of what I wanted to target, how many tracks to accomplish that goal, and how long to make each track and schedule out time to make that happen.
Focus
A big issue with working on the last pack was that it lacked focus. I had a general idea of what I wanted to do - write a bunch of tracks for whatever areas I thought may pop up in the average RPG. While I am proud of the quality of the tracks, I do believe looking back that the focus was a bit all over the place. There was a general theme of "hybrid orchestral" tying them together, but when I started working on this one I thought of the ideal RPG I would love to work on. I came to the following conclusion: I needed to think about the developer I wanted to help and that ended up being Indie Devs who are making a Science Fantasy JRPG. Even more than that, I wanted to make the pack as painless for a developer to purchase, download, and implement as possible. Just like the last pack, this one contains no STEMs to mix. The difference though is I intentionally made each track to sound as complete as possible to ensure anyone who purchases this will not want for STEMs. That way they can focus less on sifting through pieces of complete audio, and more time working on their game.
Conclusion
My number one goal is that anyone who uses this pack will find it useful for adding a unique identity, intensity, and excitement to their game immediately. I hope that whoever downloads this, as well as their players will enjoy using it, and thank you so much for checking it out!
